Love Again / Hagai Perets

Cupid sets our love and lust,
but who's to fault
when nothing lasts,
forever doomed to fail
at end,
restart the pain,
begin again.

I praise Sisyphus
for the fall,
for love's demise
that burns it all,

and leaves just ashes
in my heart,
the rolling rock –
back to the start,

so that my soul
can set in fire,
once again
the Phoenix pyre,
once again
I can desire!

To praise the love
and then to curse it,
push the rock
and then embrace it.

Love again,
before the fall,
love again
with burning soul.
